JP’s Outdoor Kitchen is a Woman Veteran-owned Food Truck and Catering LLC based out of Louisville KY, that started in January of 2022. The business found its roots at Happy Valley Bluegrass Music Festival in June 2019 when we decided to efficiently feed a full campsite of more than 50 friends, two meals a day, for a long weekend. That was when the realization struck that this was a good idea. It all began with a pair of propane grills and a camp stove!

Preston Floyd – Head Chef/Owner

Preston has over 20 years of experience in the service industry from being a line cook and bar back, to front and back of house management. He spent nearly a decade at 4th Street Live! setting up and executing private parties. Preston was raised on a goat farm in Arkansas, where he learned his first recipe for Granny Annie’s sausage gravy. Other than his two sons, Preston’s one true passion is cooking excellent food and sharing it with his friends.

Justin Crone – Owner/Operator

Justin moved to Louisville in 2014 after serving in the United States Marine Corps as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  Justin graduated from the University of Louisville in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Learning. His earliest memories of being in the kitchen are with his grandma when she would have him stand on a chair and put dirty dishes into the sink to feel like he was cooking. Justin worked under Preston’s leadership at RecBar 812 in New Albany, IN. 

Jennifer Crone – Owner/Operator

Jeni was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT in a family of eight siblings.  She joined the Marine Corps out of high school, where her and Justin met and married in 2011. She graduated from the University of Louisville in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology.  She grew up in the kitchen baking with her grandmother, making desserts for neighbors whenever possible. She trained under Preston at 4th Street Live! for private party catering.
